MONTHLY THOUGHTS
Here are a few thoughts to ponder and pray about.

May, 2014

Two thousand years ago a desperate man, about to commit suicide, asked the apostle Paul, "What must I do to be saved?"

Paul answered,  "Believe in the Lord Jesus and you and your household will be saved."

I want to be saved and I want my family to be saved.  We all want that.

I have spent several years exploring Mormonism.  The Latter Day Saints do not believe in the traditional Jesus.  This is a serious problem.  Please read "The Mormon Womam".

Joseph Smith, Jr, using the "Book of Mormon", taught that white skin is "delight-sum" but that dark skin is a curse.  Is this a racist position? Yes, it is.  And the Mormon Church is working on the problem.

Mormon Women receive salvation only through their Mormon husbands and must remain pregnant for all eternity.

The Book of Mormon does not display any maps because it is fiction and there isn't a shred of archaeological evidence to support it.

According to the third president of the Mormon Church, John Taylor, Christianity is a perfect pack of nonsense; the devil could not invent a better engine to spread his work than the Christianity of the nineteenth century.  (Journal of Discourses, vol 6, p. 167)

April, 2013

Joseph Smith Jr and his inner circle solicited Mormon women, married and single, and immigrant girls, coming off the boats from Europe.

If these women refused to comply they were damned by the church leaders.  Many women lost their innocence, some participated in abortions and suffered irreversible psychological damage.

Mormons aspire to become gods.  Joseph Smith Jr taught them this.

The Saints rely on one bible verse: 1Cor 8:5-6.  This is where Paul states that there are many "gods" and "lords'. Mormons fail to see that Paul was referring to false pagan divinities worshiped by Greeks and Romans.  Christians recognize one God.  As Paul states in 1Cor:8:4, we know that..."there is no God but one."

Mormon women receive salvation only through their LDS husbands.

Once over that hurdle they will spend eternity perpetually pregnant and nurturing children.

With bullets striking him from the front and back and death a certainty, Joseph Smith Jr cried out to the Masons, disbursed in the mob of painted faces, the Masonic cry for help, "Oh Lord, My God, is there no help for the widow's son!."

For details read The Mormon Woman.

The serpent, the father of lies, assured the woman in the Garden of Eden, that, if she ate the fruit of the tree, she would be like God.

Joseph Smith Jr. assured his followers in Nauvoo, Illinois, on April 7, 1844 that they would BE gods and inherit the same power, the same glory and the same exaltation.

Read The Mormon Woman for the details.

The Latter Day Saints  Church has changed it's position on  polygamy three times. They opened the doors in 1830, declaring monogamy was the only valid system of marriage. Then Smith declared polygamy was God's plan for marriage. Then his church did a  one-eighty and went back to monogamy but with a promise of polygamy in the next life. Yet the Book of Mormon states in Jacob 2:24 that "David and Solomon had many wives and concubines, which was an abomination before me , says the Lord". And verse 27 states ... "For there shall not any man among you have save it be one wife; and concubines he shall have none". Verse 28 states, "For I the Lord delight in the chastity of women. And whoredoms are an abomination before me".

  1. Passages in Jacob, Esther, and Mosiah fervently condemn  polygamy. Every Christian and Jew knows that our God sent Moses down the mountain with Ten Commandments . The sixth one declares that, "Thou shalt not commit adultery". So why do millions follow Joseph Smith Jr?  He may have taken  as many as eighty wives, ten of whom were married and living with their husbands. Young had twenty-seven wives. The next president, Taylor, took twelve wives. President Woodruff had ten wives. And he was forced by our government to outlaw the practice. So why, I repeat, do millions follow these men and the church they started?

  2. For more on this subject, read The Mormon Woman.

If you believe the "Book of Mormon" is true then you have to reject the Mormon faith. But if you believe the Mormon faith is true then you have to discard the "Book of Mormon." You really can't have it both ways.

  1. 1-  Mormon doctrine teaches that there are countless gods.  But the "Book of Mormon" declares there is only one.  Turn to Alma 11:22.  Amuek is talking to Zeezrom claiming that he cannot say anything contrary to the Spirit of God. Around verse 28, Zeezrom asks Amulek...'IS THERE MORE THAN ONE GOD?  And Amulek answers, emphatically 'NO.'  According to the book there is only one God.

2Nephi 31:21 claims "this is he doctrine of Christ.  And the only true doctrine of the Father, and of the son, and of the Holy Ghost, WHICH IS ONE GOD WITHOUT END. Amen

  1.      2-  Mormon doctrine teaches that God was once a man who progressed into deity. (Teaching of the prophet Joseph Smith p 345-346)  But the "Book of Mormon" declares that God has always been God, that He is unchangeable.  Mosiah 3:5  "...the Lord Omnipotent who reigneth, who was, and is from all eternity to all eternity..."

  2. 3Nephi 11:36 states, “…for the Father and I and the Holy Ghost are one.”

Mormon doctrine teaches that God was once a man who  progressed into deity. (Teaching of the prophet Joseph Smith pp 345-346.) But the “Book of Mormon” declares that God has always been God that He is unchangeable.

Mosiah3:5  “…the Lord Omnipotent who reigneth, who was, and is from all eternity to all eternity…”
